My name is Olúwasèyí, and I am a creative, experimental, and multimedia visual artist based in Lagos, Nigeria. I was born and raised in Lagos, where my passion for drawing, painting, and mixed media art began at a young age and has since grown into a lifelong pursuit. Naturally, I’ve always been drawn to the visual arts, finding joy in expressing myself through a wide range of artistic forms.
I hold a Higher National Diploma in Art and Industrial Design from Lagos State University of Science and Technology, Ikorodu (formerly Lagos State Polytechnic), where I majored in Painting and graduated in the 2013 cohort. In 2019, I also earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), further enriching my ability to merge art with learning and community impact.
Art, to me, is a tool for exploring and conveying human emotions, love, beauty, and the shared experiences that shape our existence. I use my work to evoke a sense of wonder, confront daily struggles, and introduce a touch of playfulness, ultimately inviting viewers to reflect on the intricate connections that tie us to our past, present, and the futures we imagine. My artistic practice focuses on the relationship between people and their environment, a theme that consistently weaves through my portfolio.
My work spans a variety of forms, including landscape, figurative art, abstract expressionism, collage, and mixed media. Each piece is crafted to engage, inspire, and challenge the viewer’s perspective on the world around them.
Beyond the studio, I am deeply involved in educational and creative consultancy, working with academic institutions and learning centres. This is my way of giving back to society, sharing knowledge, nurturing talent, and using art as a means to empower the next generation.
