About the artist:

My name is Sinned, and I am a multimedia artist from South Africa, passionately exploring the emotional and psychological depths of human experience through both traditional and digital mediums. My journey with art began during my high school years, between 1989 and 1992, where I found in creativity a form of rebellion and self-discovery. Though life led me away from this path after 1999, the spark never truly died. In 2018, that creative fire reignited, this time with even greater urgency and clarity.

Since returning to my practice, my artistic journey has been a powerful and deeply personal voyage. My work draws heavily on the unresolved fears and dreams of my childhood, using art as a space to confront, process, and ultimately transform them. Every piece I create, whether on canvas or digitally, is an emotional excavation, a visual representation of healing and introspection.

I see art not just as a tool for expression but as a portal into the subconscious. Through bold imagery, layered symbolism, and raw emotionality, I aim to bring hidden narratives to the surface. My intention is to spark something in the viewer, a sense of connection, reflection, or even discomfort, that encourages them to look inward and embrace their own complexity.

I never underwent formal training, instead, I consider myself self-taught, guided by experience, instinct, and a relentless desire to tell the truth through my work. Each creation is an act of vulnerability and defiance, pushing against superficiality to uncover what lies beneath.

When I’m not creating, I immerse myself in thought, memory, and observation. These quiet moments are where much of my inspiration begins, fed by silence, shadows, and the untold stories we all carry.

As a featured artist on Afriartspace.com, I am proud to share work that does not conform but confronts, challenges, and connects. My art is not only a reflection of my journey, it’s an invitation for others to embark on their own.
