I am an artist/painter and I was born in 1959 in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. I studied visual and general design at Ecole beaux-arts de Lilly le Forester in Paris, France, between 1982 and 1984 where I obtained a diploma before returning to Nigeria. I predominantly work in acrylic and oil mixed media and I am recognized for my figurative and abstract works. My work shows both local and foreign influences, I create figurative abstract works in fabric paper and other recycled materials.
My sojourn in Cotonou, Benin republic since graduation, coupled with trips to other countries like Senegal, Ghana has broadened my creative repertoire. My experiences as a Nigerian morph with experiences from countries in sub-Sahara Africa, provides me with spectacular ideas, all of which have come to bear on my creativity, themes and all other elements of artistic production. My visibility has risen incredibly among professional colleagues, art audience and collectors in Nigeria.
I believe that creativity is quantum like everything the almighty created and art should be about making pictures for pleasure without limit to the creative process.
