I am Sanusi Olatunji, born in the Yoruba town of Ejigbo in Lagos, Nigeria. I have a degree in art, I have discovered a love working in several mediums, but paper and fabric Collage has been my most favourite as I see it as a form of recycling which I have termed (Waste is wealth). With the use of paper and fabric am able to capture impressions on human faces, capture beauty in my art, differentiate light from shade, capture human feeling, capture seascape, landscape and skyline. My works have been exhibited extensively around Africa.
As a human being, I have found joy, fulfillment and life in art, my works speak to me and others. Art comes from within me, my most potent means of expression, a medium of healing the soul and bringing light to the world.
I love and have been influenced by music, literature, history and African nature and these influences often show in my art.
I am presently living and working in South Africa as a full-time studio artist, I believe that Nigeria provided an opportunity to explore ideas and South Africa provided me an opportunity to follow my dreams.
