My name is Simbarashe Fortune Godobo, and I am a young self-taught pencil artist from Zimbabwe. My artistic journey began at the age of 18, fueled by a deep desire to create something capable of evoking emotions without the need for words. This passion has shaped my path and continues to drive my creative process.
My art is a depiction of emotions and an empathetic expression of my inner self. Through my work, I transform negative experiences into something positive, using the depth of pencil strokes to bring my ideas to life. Each piece I create breathes with realism and resonates with the beauty of human experience.
To me, art is more than just a practice—it is an escape, an adventure, and a way to make my imagination tangible. It allows me to transform thoughts into reality, offering a space for both reflection and storytelling.
Outside of my art practice, I am inspired by music, nature, and the world around me. I often take walks to marvel at the wonders of my neighborhood and the broader society, finding endless inspiration in the everyday. These moments of connection and observation infuse my work with depth and authenticity.
Through my art, I aim table o spark connection and empathy, reminding viewers of the shared emotions and experiences that unite us all.
